Irish Men’s Sheds Ground-breaking 10-Year Partnership

Irish Men’s Sheds Ground-breaking 10-Year Partnership
March 27th, 2025 — A powerful new chapter for Irish communities began today as Adman Steel Sheds officially launched a landmark partnership with the Irish Men’s Shed Association (IMSA) at a special event in Ballinteer Men’s Shed, Dublin. The launch event marked the start of a 10-year initiative that will see Adman Steel Sheds aim to donate up to €500,000 to help build, refurbish, and equip Men’s Sheds across Ireland.
This significant funding will be generated through Adman’s not-for-profit Lean Business Tours—a unique programme that invites Irish businesses behind the scenes at Adman’s award-winning manufacturing facility in Gorey, Co. Wexford. These tours offer practical insights into Lean thinking and operational excellence, with all proceeds going directly to support the Men’s Shed movement nationwide.
Hosted outdoors under spring sunshine, the event brought together IMSA representatives, Men’s Shed members, local supporters, national media and special guest Eoin Reardon, campaign ambassador and well-known advocate for Irish craft and community.
The highlight of the day was the official handover of a new mobile Men’s Shed—a custom-built mobile Shed on wheels that will now tour the country as part of IMSA’s outreach and promotional efforts. In a second major announcement, attendees learned that a €25,000 ‘Men’s Shed Competition’ Giveaway will be offered to one lucky Men Shed Group later this year, providing funding for construction and fit-out.
“Joining a Men’s Shed is more than just joining a group; it’s about finding purpose and belonging in a supportive community. There’s a real value in the friendships that are formed, and we’re delighted that our Lean Factory Tour is helping The Men’s Sheds go from strength to strength.” Paul Nolan Managing Director, Adman Steel Sheds.
The event was filled with conversation and community spirit, with guests enjoying guided tours of the Ballinteer Shed, live demonstrations, and informal chats with Shed members who shared the impact these spaces have had on their lives.
Enda Egan, spokesperson for the Irish Men’s Shed Association added: “We are so proud of this partnership with Adman. Their foresight and generosity will have a real, lasting impact on our current network and futureproof Sheds around Ireland. There is nowhere else like these community spaces and never have they been more necessary for Men’s overall Health & Well Being. We believe every Man should have the opportunity to participate and benefit from a Shed’’.
Eoin Reardon, who spoke passionately at the event, added: “A shed has always been more than just four walls and a roof to me – it’s a place to escape, tinker and create. This is such a thoughtful and hands-on initiative. It’s about more than buildings—it’s about building up people and communities.
With over 450 registered Men’s Sheds and 12,000+ weekly visitors, the IMSA continues to play a critical role in men’s mental health and social wellbeing.
This new partnership brings fresh momentum to their mission—backed by long-term support from a homegrown Irish business, and powered by Adman’s Lean Business Tours, which transform business insight into community impact.
Businesses interested in improving efficiency while giving back are encouraged to book a tour and be part of the change.
